5% Workers' Comp Benefit
Effective workplace safety committees are a proven tool in reducing workplace injuries and illnesses, as well as producing significant savings to employers. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry recognizes the importance of labor-management committees for workplace safety in detecting and correcting workplace hazards.
Through Acts 44 & 578, financial incentives have been created for employer-employee workplace safety committees. If a committee meets the criteria set by the Department of Labor & Industry and is certified by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, the employer can receive from his/her workers’ compensation insurance carrier a 5% premium policy reduction.
